
Rev. Dr. Larry H. Hilliard is a native of Pascagoula, MS. He attended MGCCC, USM, and William Carey University. He received his Master's of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry from Memphis Theological Seminary where he is a member of the Board of Trustees. He has served congregations in MS and TX, including a previous appointment to Nugent UMC from 2004-2010. In 2014 Dr. Hilliard was asked to join the Appointive Cabinet by James E. Swanson Sr, as the first Director of Spiritual Leadership for the MS Annual Conference of the UMC. In 2018 Bishop Swanson appointed Dr. Hilliard to come back home to the Gulf Coast as the Superintendent of the Seashore District. In 2021 Dr. Hilliard was appointed back to Nugent UMC to serve while continuing as Superintendent.
Dr. Hilliard is married to the Rev. Dr. Terry Lynn Hilliard, pastor of Heritage UMC in D'Iberville. Together the Dr's Hilliard have 6 children, a grandson, and 3 dogs. His hobbies include riding in his antique Jeep, working in the yard, and spending time with his family, especially on their boat.
